Zinox Group organises training for online mediapreneurs, professionals in Lagos

The Zinox Group, a leading Information and Communications Technology (ICT) solutions provider in Africa, has organised an interactive and engaging Social Media Training for online mediapreneurs and professionals in Lagos, Nigeria.

The Group specialises in computer production, renewable energy, home appliances and devices, among several other products and services.

ñ reports Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh, a Nigerian businessman, Africa’s ICT icon, Founder and Chairman of Zinox Group, made opening remarks at the commencement of the three-day training programme held August 18-20, 2025.

Ekeh  said the technical and creative solutions training sessions were designed to support ICT/Telecoms Media Entrepreneurs and online publishers with up-to-date strategies to adapt social media applications and tools, among others, to boost operations, and increase their business bottom line.

The African ICT icon, who is also Chairman of Konga.com, a leading e-commerce platform, particularly emphasised the central role, which the ICT/Telecoms media has played, and continues to play in advancing the digital ecosystem and its stakeholders, including Zinox Group over the years, in Nigeria.

Ekeh: Training initiative to support media professionals to scale operations, enhance revenue

Ekeh, a serial digital entrepreneur and humanist, averred the Zinox Group’s Social Media Training initiative for online media publishers and professionals was a token of appreciation, and a veritable way to add value to the ICT/Telecoms media industry in the country.

Demonstrating his humanity, humility and avowed desire to make life better for others, Dr. Ekeh described the overarching objective of the Social Media Training programme as the practical support for online mediaprenuers and professionals to scale their media business, boost earnings, and ensure sustainability of the digital publishing ecosystem in Nigeria.

Commending the Nigerian media for contributions to especially the growth and development of the ICT/Telecoms sector over the two decades, he restated his commitment to supporting them to improve, scale their digital media business operations, and enhance the bottom line in their various organisations.

The resource persons from the Zinox Group that facilitated the engaging the Social Media Training included Ayobami Agbede, Executive Director, Corporate Affairs and Marketing at Zinox Group; Marc Darlington Ibeleme, Group Marketing and Product Manager; and Chimezie Orisakwe, Head of Corporate and Marketing Communications of the company.

Some participants in the training sessions also included online publishers and representatives from GentechNews, Political Economist, ñ, Business Highlights, News Express, eWorld, Nigerian Communications Week, ITPulse, ITRealms, ThisDay, The Guardian, The Nation, Vanguard, Independent Newspapers, and The Sun, among others.

Highlights of training sessions

The interactive and engaging training sessions exposed participants to the nitty-gritty of emerging social media trends, media brand alignment, content essentials, pay media, social media, analytics, social media algorithm, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance modern online publishing.

Other key topics covered at the training included future forecasts, content amplification, diversification strategies, and methods of monetising digital content, with practical examples and case studies from experts around the world.

Mr. Ken Ugbechie, Publisher of Political Economy news platform, speaking on behalf of the participants, expressed gratitude to Dr. Ekeh and the entire Zinox Group for the capacity-building training programme.

Going down the memory lane, Ugbechie recalled and acknowledged that Dr. Ekeh and his company have appreciated the ICT media professionals over the years.

He also averred that the three-day training was yet another demonstration of the Zinox Group’s commitment to empowering the online media publishers and professionals in the country.

Ugbechie, therefore, urged other industry players and stakeholders to emulate company’s fine example in this regard.
